UPCYCLED IPOD ART BY JEFF GRADY

Jeff Grady is a serial entrepreneur who started the world's first iPod accessories company back in 2001. A lifelong Apple Macintosh user, Grady was an unemployed dot com casualty when he purchased one of the very first iPods ever produced. Within weeks of its arrival at his doorstep, Grady designed several necessary and innovative accessory products that enhanced Apple's blockbuster device. These accessory products and the company he created helped millions of iPod owners unleash their music libraries wherever they went.

Grady's accessories products served as the foundation for what in 2006 would become the third fastest growing privately held company in the United States, Digital Lifestyle Outfitters (DLO). DLO played an instrumental and critical role in creating and establishing the enormous mobility accessories category that is a pervasive part of today's consumer electronics world.

In 2007 Grady sold his company to Philips Electronics so that he could spend more time with his wife and daughter. Newly found spare time afforded Grady the ability to delve deeper into his hobbies of music, scuba diving, snow skiing and art.

An avid fan of the works of Dale Chihuly, Grady was fascinated with Chihuly's collections of odd and eccentric items. It was Chihuly's display of these collections that inspired Grady to collect the device that accompanied his meteoric success ... the iPod. While collecting an example of every iPod made, Grady began using iPods as a medium for art, arranging them in mosaic motif.

Drawing from photomosaics and 8-bit icons, Grady continues to create a collection of upcycled iPod art that he uses to promote music, technology and the responsible disposal of consumer electronics.

Grady is truly "Made From iPod."
